Just Like Magnus

Eh? You...look like Magnus. What are you doing here?

Magnus? Magnus! Who are you? How do you know Magnus? Speak!

Relax, relax. I thought you had some ties to Magnus. He was a commander under the Black Mage long, long ago. It's quite strange, how much you look like him...

Magnus was here?! Hmmm...with the portals between Grandis and Maple World, I suppose it's possible...

I don't know much about Magnus, but I recall him being terribly arrogant...he cared only about his power, and smashing his foes. He vanished after the Black Mage was sealed.

When was the Black Mage sealed?

It was a few centuries ago. I don't know exactly when.

Huh... We still don't know much about Magnus, and he only took Heliseum a few decades ago...the timeline doesn't fit.

You keep talking about Magnus...how do you know him?

Oh, right. My name is Kaiser. I am a warrior of Nova, from the world of Grandis. Magnus was an exiled warrior of Nova, but he returned to conquer our capital. He is the great disgrace of our race, and my eternal enemy.

Ohh...so, you're not from around here.

It looks like the Cygnus Knights and Nova have a mutual enemy in Magnus. He served your Black Mage, just as he does our Darmoor...

Darmoor?

He is one of the Transcendents ruling over Grandis. As the Transcendent of Life, he's trying to seize control of all life on Grandis. Nova fights endlessly against him.

The situation on Grandis sounds dire indeed. We could help you, if you wish.

Oh, that's good to hear! I need to take your offer to the Council, but I'm sure they'll be interested. I'll return soon with our response.

Then, I will be looking forward to it.

Do you need anything else?

Welcome, Kaiser. How has your journey been?

Oh man, where should I start? When I first arrived...

Interesting. So, these Cygnus Knights wish to ally with us. But are they trustworthy? And, more importantly, are they powerful?

I'm not sure about their power, but I think they can be trusted. They have a good aura.

That's not enough for us. You didn't find any Transcendents?

Er, no.

Blast. I am certain there is a Transcendent on this Maple World. Still, we can use any help we can get...

Well, I DID hear about a Transcendent...one like Darmoor. The people of Maple World are fighting their Transcendent, the Black Mage. If we ally with them, they'll need our help in return.

What? This is unexpected. I had hoped to ally with a Transcendent, but not one that has fallen to evil. Kaiser, what is your assessment of the situation?

We can't join with anyone as bad as Darmoor. I think the Cygnus Knights would make great allies. I like them.

We had hoped to launch our attack on Tyrant's Castle as soon as possible, which means we need reinforcements quickly. This might just be the break we need. Good work, Kaiser. I'll gather the Council, and we'll have a response ready for you to take back soon.

You didn't leave for Grandis yet? Did you mention your hometown before? Was it Pantheon?
