Okay, so, we are without kindling to start a fire. I should have checked that earlier, but, ehh, whatever. Go get us some kindling, okay? Take the portal on the top right of the cannon.

Kindling? Where am I gonna find kindling in a place like this?

Well, if you stop fussing, I'll tell you. There are a mess of Oak Barrels washed up over there. The wood in the barrels is treated to stay dry, so it burns nicely. So, go smash 'em up and bring me the Kindlings you get from them. Makes sense, right? Good! Now go! This starfish ain't gonna roast itself! That would be pretty nice, though...

Hey, you're here. Good for you. Y'know, I was probably too hard on you. I bet you could make a decent Explorer. Well, I'm sure you could, with my new weapon. Shame we're never getting off this island...

Hey, that reminds me. While I was getting the Kindling, I saw a bunch of weird stuff on that small island over there. Is there anything we could use to escape?

Oh, right, the small island. Funny story about that. I had an Ignition Device for this Cannon here, but I lost it in a storm, and I think it ended up on that little island. Shame, too...if we had it, we could get off this island. Oh, well.

To obtain Kindling, whack the Oak Barrels with your Regular Attack. You bring me enough Kindling, and I'll make you the best Roasted Starfish you've ever had while stranded on an island with a pirate and a monkey.

Look, we need kindling to roast the starfish. This isn't rocket science, kid. And trust me, you DON'T want to eat these raw. Tried that once. Not pretty.
