Oh! Oh my! You have it all wrong. The Dark Lord never banished me. He sent me away to protect me. As for who he's protecting me from... Well, that's the part he and I are trying to figure out.

Someone, and we don't know for sure who, has been twisting the history of Maple World from the shadows. The previous Dark Lord hunted that person, and he told his trusted student, Jin, all the details. Together, they worked tirelessly to pursue that evil.

I did my part as well. I'm just a humble bookstore owner, but I studied history books and informed them of any inconsistencies I found. The history of Maple World has been deeply distorted... Regardless, we came so close to tracking down the enemy!

With the help of some citizens of Sleepywood, we cornered the enemy. The previous Dark Lord, his friend Tristan, and the current Dark Lord were going to lure it out and destroy it...

But the enemy knew we were coming and tricked us. He killed Tristan and the previous Dark Lord. Jin, seeing how dangerous the situation was, helped me find a place of safety here in Ellinia, then continued the fight alone.

Jin's been working to make Maple World safe ever since. He's subtle about it, obviously. He doesn't want the enemy to target anyone else. But Jin is a good man.
