When Hayato and Kanna came to Maple World, they brought objects containing the energies of Mars and Mercury with them. I believe the item connected to Mars can be found in Inside Small Shrine.
Do not worry, there is nothing there at the moment. Go to Momijigaoka and you will find a path that connects to Inside Small Shrine.
But remember, only Hayato, the child of Mars, can locate it.
