How much time has passed, anyway? How many years would it take for the スライムs to get so weak? And what became of the Black Mage? I need answers!

Didn't this used to be the forest of the fairies? These trees weren't here before...and neither were those houses! A huge town like this couldn't pop up in just a couple years. Just how long was I asleep?
