[Sleepywood] Hero's Gladius

You're quite strong. Would you lend me your aid? I can do it myself, but there's a bit of a story... And I don't think this will be difficult at all for an adventurer like you. Are you interested?

Wonderful. Over a decade ago, my brother Manji went into a colossal cave in the middle of this island. He discovered the Balrog, spoken of in stories and legends. Those large wings, and fangs as sharp as any blade...

He knew he could not defeat it, and prepared for the end when it charged him. Right then, a man with a mysterious, glimmering blade appeared. The man held off Balrog long enough for Manji to escape.

That man was the great hero, Tristan. My brother got out safely thanks to him, but Tristan was wounded and fell over the cliff. My brother rushed down to find him, and saw that he was not long for this world. Tristan gave Manji the 古びたグラディウス and closed his eyes. Now, my brother wants to restore the gladius to its original state.

When the gladius reawakens, it will turn into the 英雄のグラディウス. First, we need to purge it of Balrog's evil energy. Go to クリシュラマ in スリーピーウッド. He'll know how.

Hah... must still hate the fact that I thought nothing of you before... You can't catch up with me with that kind of a mindset! Now I'm not so sure if I'll accept you even if you decide to change your mind... Hahaha.

This is the sword that saved my brother! What will you do? Use it, or return it to you as you promised? I'll give you a pair of valuable earrings if you give me the sword.

Thank you for giving us your time. Maybe we'll see each other again someday.

Please reawaken Manji's 古びたグラディウス into 英雄のグラディウス. クリシュラマ in スリーピーウッド will know how. Bring it to me when you succeed and I'll compensate you well.
