The Third Guardian

Velderoth... I remember him when he was young. In terms of battle skills and strength, he was unparalleled, but had a weak will.

Why would Velderoth join Magnus? Did...did he really want power so badly?

I understand that you are shocked, Kaiser, but we accept the reality we are given. Considering Velderoth's skills and the size of the army now before us, it would seem that Velderoth has become Magnus's third guardian.

...

What strikes me is that skill he used on you...that's taken straight from Magnus's playbook. You must be ready to cut down Velderoth without hesitation. He will surely do the same to you.

We may be old friends, but I'm always ready to crush someone that threatens Nova's safety.

Good. According to the information from Eurenth, Magnus learned the secrets of the Nova royal family's defenses, and he's using a similar seal.

And that means...?

To make a key that can reach the royal throne, you need three seals. The original three guardians had these seals. Victor, Treglow, and...

And...?

Goodness, I've had this seal forever. My office actually used to be right across from the throneroom. I hate to think of what the invaders have done to it...

Huh.

Anyway, I'm certain Magnus has made his own seals, and given them to his corrupted guardians. Finding them is going to take some special information from the merchant crew. Eurenth already sent you to deal with them once, if I recall?

Long ago, we had a very close relationship with the merchant crew. They actually played a big part in securing the central region. Go see Tonero near Downtown Black Market.

You are the only person for this task... Don't forget that.

Ahhh, my mighty compatriot brightens my day once more! How fare you?

Fine...but are you sure this is a good place for doing business?

Indeed! One must be prepared for anything in times of war, not the least of which being the noble pursuit of currency!

I barely understand you most of the time, so let's get this over with. Edea sent me.

So, you are the lucky rogue who shall profit from our agreement. Are you prepared for a shower of knowledge?

Good. Shall we speak of Treglow first? Pause for a moment while I arrange my factoids.
