When we got the letter, Arkarium appeared and attacked your henchman before we could do anything. Arkarium attacked us briefly, but soon fled.

Using the information from the letter, we took the most direct route to the Black Mage. When we arrived...I remember seeing you on the ground. How did you escape alive?

Turning in the quest

We knew you had turned on the Black Mage...signs of your struggle were everywhere, and the Black Mage's protective magic was damaged. It is because of you that we heroes could seal the Black Mage, though I still regret that we could not destroy him completely...

I am relieved to hear that I did some good against him.

Regardless, there is much evil you have done that still needs to be atoned for. I cannot say if your crimes will ever be forgiven...

I'm not here for forgiveness. I have already lost everything that matters to me. Vengeance is my only concern now.

I certainly do not envy your situation. What do you intend to do now?

Everything that has happened is my responsibility. I will right these wrongs, and end the threat of the Black Mage myself.

...When the Black Mage returns, your strength will be needed. I have no intention of helping you, but I am glad our goals are the same.
