And how did YOU know about the Forbidden Book of Alchemy, anyway?
I seek relics of the Black Mage, and destroy them. Rumors of Dark Alchemy are common enough, and I followed them here. Now, tell me what happened to the book.
Those...people...stole it. I don't know who they are, but their magic was strong enough to stun me, open the safe, and escape with the book. However, we only had half of the book. The Alcadno have the other half...but if the thieves get theirs as well, they will gain access to Dark Alchemy...
The other half?
We tried to protect the world from Dark Alchemy by splitting the book in half. Each half is meaningless without the other. Giving one half to both Zenumists and Alcadnos seemed logical...at least until now.
Then, we must ensure the other half is secure!
Indeed! You'll find the other half with Maed. I wonder if the thieves have found Maed yet... You must hurry! Stop them, if you can!
Wha... No! What have I done? Where is the Forbidden Book of Alchemy? Did I...give it to those strange magicians? I did! Blast their foul hypnotism! I should have...wait, who in the world are you?!
That is not important! The Carson half has been stolen already, has it? I need details on this Dark Alchemy they're after. Tell me!
Oh... This is terrible. They had the other half, too. That means they have the complete book... We're doomed. Fine, I might as well tell you what you want.
Accept
Hurry to the Alcadno association, and see if the Forbidden Book of Alchemy is safe. I'll take care of matters here, and join you when I can. Check with the president of Alcadno, Maed.
Dark Alchemy is not used for attacking or defending, but rather for making or destroying magical substances. It can alter the very flow of the world's magic!
Please, you MUST return the book to us! It is too dangerous in the hands of madmen. I'll get you a Magic Tracking Compass to chase after them with. Give me a moment...

What, now all of a sudden, you don't care? What kind of a hero ARE you?
