Starting the quest
Brighton wants my advice, does he?
Allow an old man his ruminations, if you would. Edelstein is, and always has been, my home. It was once a peaceful and beautiful town, made prosperous by the hard work of its people and the good fortune of its location. You see, the local mine is quite filled with valuable materials. So full and so accessible, in fact, that a vicious group of opportunists came to take it from us. And when the Black Wings descended upon our little hamlet, they brought with them fear and intimidation.
I formed the Resistance to restore Edelstein to its former glory. To bring peace back to its people. Liberty was to be our only goal.
But the passing of time brings the unexpected. We have lost friends, and gained others. We have fought and forgiven. We have faced the darkness within ourselves and forced ourselves to stare into the hearts of our enemies.
I would give you my trust completely, but I fear it is something I can no longer do. The loss I feel is still too near.
That's why we can't fully distrust or trust you. We know the pain of losing comrades and trust all too well.
But I would not turn you away. I feel you have a good heart. I will offer my acceptance if you will show your trust in us first. You must promise to remain true to our cause.
Reply to “Yes”
Good. Please return to me in a moment. I am but an old man, and an old man needs time to ponder.
Reply to “No”
How can one trust if no trust is given?
Turning in the quest
I have decided that the wind feels right for acceptance. I will speak with Brighton and grant you my blessings.
I look forward to the day we may walk the streets of Edelstein openly, proud of the sacrifices we have made for peace.

It would do you well to take in the people and sights of Edelstein. Maybe it will even jog that clogged memory of yours!
