The current Dark Lord is the eighth one appointed, if I'm not mistaken. This is the disciple who took over after the former Dark Lord disappeared. So, all of that means that the current Dark Lord isn't very old.

Come to think of it, the disappearance of the former Dark Lord still remains a mystery. He just suddenly disappeared one day. He also had a daughter, but she disappeared, too. It was really, very strange.
