The Strange Beast

Hey, [Nombre]. You've been tearing it up, huh? The whole Resistance is talking about your skills.

See, you're the kind of person we need to take care of the Strange Monster. This thing's been appearing outside the city randomly, scaring people and vanishing.

All right. The last sighting was near the fountain at Edelstein Park 2, so I suggest starting there.

Well, I sure thought you would be interested in a challenge. Suppose I was wrong...but if you change your mind, come on back.

Wait, you can...! C-commander? It...it really is you, Commander [Nombre]! Oh, no, wait, wait! It's me, Mastema!

An impostor? Me? How could you even... Oh, right, I'm a cat. I keep forgetting that. Here, lower your weapon, and I'll explain everything.

Let me just say...it's such a relief to see you again, [Nombre]... I knew the Black Mage couldn't beat you. As for me...it happened the day I left Temple of Time to deliver the letter to the heroes. You see, I actually found them!

The heroes were on their way to fight the Black Mage. I was about to give them the letter, when Arkarium appeared and attacked me! He wounded me terribly...so badly, that all I could do was change into this form to survive.

Since then, I've been wandering the world, searching for you, [Nombre]. I have almost no powers in this form...it's been difficult.

Meow! Meow, meow! Meow? Meow meow.

Start by checking the fountain at Edelstein Park 2. You found the Black Wing Spy, so I imagine this should be no problem for you.
