What I am about to tell you might sound like an excuse, an excuse from someone who may know everything, but was too afraid to release any of the information... an excuse from a coward like me. Would you still listen to the story?

瑪迦提亞城 is a town that was established over a lab of the Black Mage, who brought darkness to the whole continent of Ossyria. I am not saying it's literally built over the lab. I'm saying that all alchemy-related studies in 瑪迦提亞城 are... based on the studies of the Black Mage.

Of course, that doesn't mean they are working on evil spells like the Black Mage. They were just referencing the Black Mage's work purely from an academic standpoint. Even with that, after a while, almost all remnants of the Black Mage disappeared.

Still, it doesn't change the fact that 瑪迦提亞城's philosophies are based on the Black Mage. Both alchemy and Magatia have been built upon a corrupt foundation.

Imagine it's known to the public... The reputation of 瑪迦提亞城, a respected alchemist town that heavily affects Ossyria as a whole with their contributions, will go down the drain. That's why the presidents of the societies in 瑪迦提亞城 have been adamant about keeping all this quiet.

But nowadays, I am not sure if this should be kept secret any longer. Look at 特力, a bright alchemist with a great future. His only sin was dedicating his whole life to the studies and researches... and when he became too close to the truth, he became a martyr instead. The truth must be told... to make sure his name emerges clean and free of rumors and scandals, if nothing else...
